A video that has gone viral in recent days has the Internet up in arms. The short footage appears to show some worm-like creature shooting out a creamy web across a man’s hand.

For an explanation, we turned to one of our all-time favourite sites – I Fucking Love Science.
According to the scientists, it’s 100 per cent real.
While the exact species identification is “difficult”, they believe the tiny terror to be a type of ribbon worm.
The white matter that appears to squirt out from the worm is its “proboscis”, a tubular sucking organ that some worms use to feed. So, our squirmy, wormy friend is just checking out his surroundings and finding out if he can eat the hand.
