We all have that one friend who’s always on the latest health-kick and telling you the amazing benefits of said diet. But how often do you actually question them about their new-found nutritional advice?

Although some people can’t eat gluten for medical reasons, the lifestyle choice to go gluten-free has been popularised by fitness experts and weight-loss groups.

Apart from knowing it’s in bread and pasta, most people find it difficult to break down a definition for the diet demon.

For anyone who does want to know, gluten is a protein composite found in foods processed from wheat and related grains.
