Not only was there not a dry eye in the house last night, there wasn’t a dry eye in the entire country! Many who tuned into the Late Late Show had a feeling they may see some families reunited but is it just us or are the stories becoming more heartbreaking every year?
The show had organised a competition with Supermac’s which would provide the prize winner with flights to go see one of their loved ones abroad. However, Lena Kelly missed out on the opportunity.
Lena hadn’t seen her brother Michael in quite a long time, he hasn’t been home for Christmas in 26 years and she has never met his children, whose mother died a few years ago.
Lena didn’t win the prize, but she did win something a whole lot better.
As if that wasn’t enough, Ryan and the show also managed to reunite the actual winner of the flights, Madeline and her daughters Suzanna and Amanda with their brother Gareth, wife Jacque and daughter Sadbh.
We couldn’t keep it together…
