As a nation, we’re well able to give it socks when it comes to a good singsong.
Part of the craic is getting others involved and this is illustrated very well by the below video.
Finbar Burns, a pupil at Abbey CBS in Newry, recently travelled to southern Zambia on a trip organised by his school.
While there, the students met some local children and decided to teach them the classic Oró, Sé Do Bheatha Bhaile.
Speaking to JOE.ie, Finbar said: “The video takes place in Linda Community School. They were a grade 6 primary school class but their ages ranged from 10-17 years old.
“The class had 56 children in it… singing was the only thing that kept them in their seats, they were really great children and loved to learn”.
