VIDEO: Barack Obama Calls Newlyweds to Apologise for Interrupting Their Wedding Celebrations

"If I'd skipped the 16th hole, I would have shot a 79!"

You know how it is. The biggest day of your life, and you’re forced to move the ceremony with less than 24 hours notice.

Many brides and grooms to be would hit the roof, but for Army Captains Natalie Heimel and Edward Mallue Jr, it was just another day of service.

The reason for their last minute switch, as it happened, was to allow American President Barack Obama complete a round of golf on a picturesque Hawaiian course.

Heimel and Mallue were happy to oblige, earning a grateful phone call from the US Commander in Chief, while still at the altar!

The chat was captured on camera, where Obama can be heard on speakerphone saying: “Listen. Congratulations on your wedding. I feel terrible. Nobody told us.”

“If they had just mentioned that they were going to have a wedding on the 16th hole, we would have skipped the 16th hole!”

Obama went on to say :“Sorry for the change of plans. But sounds like you guys are gonna have a great wedding and at least you will have a good story to tell.”

“Congratulations and thank you both for your service.”
