From all the backlash from the ‘neknomination’ craze, some good comes too.
Many similar-minded people across the country have turned their attentions to spreading #RAKnominations instead, carrying out a ‘random act of kindness’ and challenging others to follow suit within 24 hours.
Edel Walsh writes:
“I work for a company called The Student Network. (TSN).
We’ve uploaded a video which would be of interest to your viewers after the recent negative, horrible internet sensation, NEKnominations.
We wanted to channel our energy into something positive – something which could potentially change somebody’s day and then inspire others to do good deeds.
Inspired by the recent sensation, #RAKnomination, we at The Student Network want to bring being kind to other to another level – so we pulled together and managed to gather enough resources to feed 110 of Dublins homeless people & donate to the Capucian Centre – all in 24 hours.
This was the outcome.”
