Almost two thirds of men admitted that their other half is better looking than they are and that’s just the way they like it.
A survey, by the app Celebalike, found that the majority of men believed they were punching above their weight.
Moreover a third said it helped to make other guys jealous while a fifth liked it because they think it makes them more attractive to other women.
A spokesman said: “Although men seem to be quite grounded when it comes to how they see themselves against their partners, it’s clear they aren’t shy of self-belief either.”
More than half of men asked said they believed they were capable of attracting someone better-looking with a quarter admitting they see it as a challenge to go for the most attractive woman in the room.
The study also found out why guys attract better-looking other halves. A good sense of humour, good manners and being a good listener were the top three reasons. Other endearing characteristics included a nice smile, being good in bed, dance moves and having money.
It was also revealed that as they get older, men do realise that personality is more important than looks. Well thank goodness for that!
