17. Unplug battery chargers
How many mobile phones do you have in your house? How many mobile phone chargers do you have in your house? If every member of your family has a phone, chances are there’s always at least one charger plugged in somewhere.
But did you know that when it comes to wasting electricity and money, mobile phone chargers are one of the biggest culprits?
Now, we’re not saying that you have to give up charging your phone altogether, but one of the easiest ways that you can cut your electricty useage and save some money is to unplug your phone charger as soon as your battery is full and you’re finished using it.
Many phone chargers out there tend to draw power continuously, even when the phone isn’t plugged into it.
This means that if you go to work and forget to unplug your charger, it will still be using energy all day long.
Before you leave the house, do a five minute check to make sure that all the chargers have been plugged out. It may not seem like a major thing to do but it could save you a lot of money in the long run!
