If you’re hoping to fake a flu at some point this summer and soak up some sun instead… now would be a good time to start coughing!
There’s a mini heatwave headed our way, with today, Tuesday, set to be the hottest day of the year so far.
Some parts of the country will see highs of 25 degrees C as the day progresses, with the east coast of the country seeing the best of the weather.
The sunny skies come as our neighbours in Britain look set for temperatures reaching into the mid-30s.
If today’s a write-off, you could always request tomorrow off – as temperatures will again hit mid-20s. Met Éireann are predicting afternoon highs of 18 to 25 degrees C, highest in northeastern areas.
We can expect some rain overnight on Wednesday and a bit of a dip in the heat on Thursday, but a “fresher” day with afternoon temperatures of 18 to 21 degrees C and light southwesterly winds.
The weekend is currently looking a little cooler, with “afternoon temperatures more typically in the high teens”.
