While we love going abroad for a break, getting to the airport from Dublin city centre can be a nuisance.
There’s the bus but that’s not always the most reliable method of transport and taxis can eat into your holiday budget before you even leave the country.
Earlier today, Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Tánaiste Joan Burton revealed plans for a €27 billion metro line that will be “underground from the city centre to the airport and overground in other areas”.

The only negative is (and it’s a pretty big one) that work won’t begin on the line until 2021 and it will take five years to complete.
Let’s hope it’s worth the wait!
