This morning it was announced that film director Tony Scott had died after jumping from a bridge in Los Angeles.
Sixty-eight year old Tony, younger brother of director Ridley Scott, is said to have jumped from the Vincent Thomas Bridge yesterday afternoon.

A number of witnesses saw the director jump from the bridge and called the police. Authorities pulled his body from the water later in the day.
According to the Los Angeles Times a note with contact details was found in Tony’s Toyota Prius, parked on the bridge. A suicide note was also found in his office.

Since the news of his death has spread, tributes have been pouring in from Hollywood stars including A Beautiful Mind director Ron Howard, Hot Fuzz star Nick Frost and Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood.
Tony was known for his action films and worked on a number of box office hits including Top Gun, Man on Fire, Enemy of the State, and Days of Thunder.
