Too Young? X-Factor Officially Lowers Age Of Entry For Contestants

A bit too young perhaps?

We really thought they just couldn’t get any younger, but it seems X Factor have lowered the age limit yet again to allow younger contestants to enter the show for the live shows.

ITV have confirmed that contestants from age 14 can enter now. The age limit previous to this season was age 16.

According to Digital Spy, anyone who is aged 14 before April 30th of this year will now be eligible to enter.

“We’ve lowered the age range to give a new generation of singers the chance to audition,” an X Factor spokesperson told Digital Spy.

“Anyone under the age of 18 will need their parents’ or guardians’ permission to apply and will need their parents or guardian to accompany them to their audition.”

Although the younger age bracket will certainly bring in quite a few more contestants, is this age a little too young?
