With the sun finally making a long overdue appearance, it’s hard not to think of lazy days spent lounging about on a foreign beach.
Sadly though, it seems as though those dreams won’t become reality for many Irish people this year, with almost half of us unsure whether we can afford a break this year.

A poll of almost 10,000 Irish people, carried out by AA, has found that 48% of people admitted they were are unsure whether or not they can afford a holiday this year.
Over a quarter, (27.5%), said they would definitely not be able to afford a trip, while less than 19% of those polled were certain that they could afford a holiday this year.
Shopping around is a key factor for those planning a holiday, with more than 25% of those polled saying they would consider holding off on purchasing a holiday in order to avail of last minute deals. Savvy holiday-makers are also searching for off-peak deals with more than 45% looking to purchase trips out of season.
