If you log on to Google today (let’s face it, you will, who doesn’t?) you will notice a google doodle with a few adorable animals.
That Google Doodle was created by Kelly McCabe, a student from Scoil Carmel Junior National School who is just 8 years of age.
Kelly won a competition,beating off competition from 74 other regional finalists to get her Google Doodle on the homepage today.
The eight-year-old was presented with the award for the Doodle 4 Google competition at a prize-giving ceremony in Google’s Headquarters. Kelly received an €5,000 scholarship towards her study, a Chromebook and a €10,000 technology grant for her school.
The theme of this year’s event was “My Adventure” and Kelly’s adventure was in the Jungle! We absolutely love it.
2,390 students entered the competition according to the Irish Times.
