Three Men And A Taxi – The Story Behind One of The Biggest Cons of The Year

We don't know if this is genius or awful.

“Three” men in Brighton pulled off a con on a taxi driver recently to the tune of £195.

The lads, who were getting a taxi from the train station in Brighton to London, had no money to pay for the cab so instead, plotted an elaborate scheme to get them out of the fare.

The story, which appeared in the Daily Star, states that the men agreed on a fee before setting off on the journey.

According to the Daily Star, one man was dropped off after 50 miles while a second man was dropped off at the next stop.

The second man, quite thoughtfully, gave his remaining friend’s address to the driver as his friend was “asleep” in the back seat.

Unfortunately for the poor taxi man when he arrived at the last address and tried to wake up his sleepy passenger, he discovered that the “man” was in fact a fully-clothed mannequin.

“He was expecting the last passenger to pay, so he lost the lot,” Andy Cheesman, City Cabs boss in Brighton told the newspaper.

“It is the funniest thing ever to happen to one of our drivers,” he continued. “You can imagine the stick he got from the other guys.”
