We all know that when it comes to Twitter, each character counts.
It’s also the platform where we test our wit, make social comments and try out-smart each other with hilarious* tweets.
So fans of the micro-blogging site will be happy to hear Twitter has officially launched its ‘retweet with comment’ feature, allowing users to feature a tweet in their own post without using any of their 140 characters.
So how will the new feature size up?
Users needs to simply click on the retweet button, choose the ‘quote tweet’ option from the pop-up menu and the subject tweet will appear as a ‘card’ showing a smaller version of the content in your stream (without stealing any of those characters).
Those who worry they’re not reaping the full kudos of their witty characters are hopeful that the new feature will mean more credit is given to original posts.
The new feature is currently only available for Twitter’s app for iPhone and web, but is expected to roll out to other mobile apps soon.
