If your man has a special kind of love for his football team, you might want to pay attention next time he suggests a possible baby name for your offspring.
Picking out your child’s name can be tough.
You want to make sure it’s not cruel (some fads should be left behind) while some feelings could be hurt if you choose to pass on the family name (sorry to anyone named Gertrude, but sometimes you just have to say no)
According to i100, a clipping from an Australian magazine shows a letter from a woman called Clare Smith, who decided to reveal the meaning behind her daughter’s unusual name.
The clipping, believed to have been published by House Proud magazine, reads:
“We chose our daughter’s name, Lanesra, because it was unique and romantic. It wasn’t until she was two that my husband told me it was actually his favourite soccer team, Arsenal, spelled backwards!”
Sneaky, but we wonder if Clare would have ever found out if she wasn’t told.
Let’s just hope Lanesra doesn’t grow up to be a United fan…
