If you’re an android user, we have some pretty exciting news for you.
WhatsApp has decided to treat their android audience to a few new features, including an updated emoji list, custom notifications and a new ‘low data’ mode for phone calls.
Emojis include the middle finger emoticon and the Vulcan Salute for all those not-so-secret Trekkies.
We’re a little more excited by the notification announcement though – which will see users greeted by different sounds for individual Whatsapp groups and people.
You’ll also be able to mark messages as read or unread – much like your email and handy if you need a few more minutes to compose the perfect reply.
Rounding off the latest features is the ‘low data’ option, which will be especially useful for anyone making calls from their mobile data rather than relying on Wi-Fi. The ‘low data’ option will help you save up some of that all-important data (and could even help reduce your phone bill).
While there’s no mention of these features making their way to the iPhone, we can always hope and pray.
