Christmas is often jokingly referred to as engagement season, but there’s now official research to back this up.
Elite Daily just alerted us to the fact that Facebook recently did a little investigating, using data from over 2.5 million users of the social media site.
The results of this research show that Christmas Eve, the 24th of December, is the day of the year that the most people get engaged.
It’s followed by Christmas Day in second place and New Year’s Day rounds up the top three.
The social media giant also found that one-third of those surveyed got engaged between November and December, making winter a veyr popular time for popping the question.
Interestingly, Facebook estimates that the average engagement lasts 14 months and there’s a one in four chance you’ll attend a wedding overseas at some stage.
