Relationships are made of on many elements, it’s important that the couple get on, enjoy each others company and so on, but a new survey has shown there is one thing people look for in a prospective partner over anything else.
While intelligence, a sense of humour and trust are all obviously important traits, but a new study has shown over 400 thousand people look for kindness first.
Kindness is the single most important factor when it comes to dating according to a study by EliteSingles. It came out on top for both men and women. 82% of women and 70% of men surveyed said that this was the most important quality.
It even beat out other major traits like like sexual attraction, emotional connection and moral values.
For women, emotional connection and moral values followed kindness in importance for a romantic relationship.
Men said emotional connection and sexual compatibility came in second and third place.
We’re not overly surprised by this, because while sexual attraction, moral compatibility and emotional connections are all obviously important, at the end of the day if the person you are with is not kind to you, they are definitely not worth being with.
