Bringing your significant other home to meet your parents can be a daunting experience.
But a recent survey has revealed that bringing home a doctor or a lawyer could make the meeting go that much smoother.
The study, conducted by YouGov revealed that when it comes to their children’s partners, parents really do have an ideal profession in mind.
Thirty-eight per cent of parents surveyed said they would like their son or daughter to bring home a doctor.
When it comes to the ideal son-in-law, only 1 per cent of parents said they would happy if he was an MP.
The political profession also comes bottom of the list for a prospective daughter-in-law, coming in just behind a soldier or an actor.
