We all know there’s few things an Irish dad loves doing more than preparing you for the weather.
Whether it’s updating you on the forecast he just saw after the news, or staring into the sky to offer up his pearls of wisdom, there’s a genuine affection in keeping your feet dry.
So when TXFM Drive got a call from Laoise today, they were impressed the lengths her dad went to in keeping up his end of the bargain.
Festival-goer Laoise told presenter Joe Donnelly that her dad is a retired meteorologist, and before each festival, sends her an exclusive weather report.

Heading to Body and Soul this weekend, Laoise was told to ditch the wellies after receiving this text…
Laoise, the weather forecast for the weekend.
A deep breath – although Friday will become increasingly cloudy it will be a reasonably pleasant day with temperatures peaking at around 19 degrees. For the most part the day will be dry but a little light rain or drizzle is possible at times especially during the evening. Friday night will be mild and close (humid) with occasional outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Temperatures unlikely to fall below 13 degrees. A cloudy start to Saturday with again a little rain or drizzle at times. Becoming brighter and drier as the day progresses and pleasantly warm too, with temperatures up to 20 or 21 degrees. Saturday night will be mainly dry but it will be much cooler than Friday night with temperatures dropping to around 10 degrees. Sunday will be a bright fresh day with a little sunshine breaking through in between the odd rain shower. A cooler feel to the day with temperatures probably getting no higher that 16 or 17 degrees in a moderate westerly breeze. As the weather has been mostly dry of late the ground conditions should be fairly good for walking around and the wellies may not be necessary.
Hope you have a great time and keep safe.
