When Irish eyes are smiling…

The rest of the world takes note!

A survey conducted by major US travel magazine, Travel + Leisure, has found that the friendliest city in the world, as voted for by its readers, is our very own Galway.

The Craic
Galway was voted the friendliest city in the world.

Not only that, but both Dublin and Cork also made it into the top four, making Ireland the only country with more than two cities  in the top ten.

Speaking about the results, Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, explained why he thinks we are topping the list.

He said: “It is the warm welcome and the ‘craic’ here that resonates with our overseas visitors and makes our cities, and the island of Ireland, such a great choice for a short break or holiday.”
