When you’re a teenager faced with the prom (or debs in our case), only two things tend to matter – what do you wear and who do you ask to be your date?
So when one student in Nevada asked his gay friend to be his date for prom, he just happened to win over the heart of the internet.
Jacob Lescenski of Nevada High School decided to ask his best friend Anthony Martinez to prom with an epic banner proposal:
The sign read: “You’re hella gay, I’m hella str8, but you’re like my brother so be my d8!”
According to The Independent, as a member of the student council, Anthony always plans dances but has never been asked to go.
Tweeting his appreciation to his best friend for making such a gesture, Anthony told media outlets:
“He’s a real man. Given that he has the guts to fulfill my gay student council dream of always helping out planning dances, and never getting asked. I couldn’t ask for a better person in my life.”
So how did Jacob respond to Anthony’s gratitude?
By telling him he loved him.
Best. Friend. Ever.
And thanks to Anthony’s tweet, everyone wants to be friends with the high school teen.
