This Dog Hiding Food Is Like Us Stealing Sweets At Christmas

Oh, the shame when you're caught!

Oh, the shame when you’re caught!

Christmas in Ireland means a lot of things, but one massive part that Irish households have in common is the box of Roses or Quality Street. While some people have them cracked open long before Christmas Day, some Irish Mammies insist on leaving them for the evening of the 25th.

Others want to keep them for St Stephen’s Day when the relatives call. Whatever the case may be, it’s very tempting to ignore these traditions and steal one of the sweets before you’re allowed. Boxes of Roses are even easier to take from because each chocolate doesn’t have a specific place like they do in Milk Tray, for example.

We’ve all been there when you just want to sneak one chocolate. What they won’t know won’t hurt them right?

The crime is almost worth it, until you’re seen. The moment you’re caught, you have two options, the first to eat it as quickly as possible. It’s not always easy to chew them quickly, though, especially the toffee variety, even if you want to eat it quickly it’s physically impossible.

So the second option is to try act completely normal with the giant sweet hidden in your mouth.

This dog is like all of us at Christmas when we’ve stolen a sweet. He’s been caught red-handed and doesn’t even have time to chew on the stolen goods. Instead, he stores it in his mouth like a squirrel, in the hopes that his owner won’t see it.

But like every Irish Mammy, this woman foils his plan and he’s forced to spit it out.

Oh, the shame!
