These Are The Most Popular Baby Names For Irish Passport Applications in 2015

The new baby names list is out – but this time it’s taking note of the most popular names registered for Irish passports in 2015.

For anyone who decided to bring their bouncing new bundle on their first family holiday, we’re sure you had some fun getting the child to hold their head up long enough for that all-important passport picture.

According to the Irish Sun, of the 133,323 passports issued to children under the age of three in 2015, 162 documents went to boys called Daniel and 134 went to girls named Emily.

Speaking to the Irish Sun about the results, Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan also noted the highest new entries reflect the multiculturalism now present in Irish society, with Zuzanna and Kacper the highest new entries:

“The list of most popular names reflects the continued overall popularity of traditional Irish names, such as Aoife and Oisín, while also highlighting the vibrant multiculturalism of today’s Ireland, with Zuzanna and Kacper the highest new entries.”
