When it comes to drinking, we know that trying to match the boys drink-for-drink will usually end in tears.

Like literal crying over your lobster tears.

However, we always put it down to the fact that we are generally a little bit smaller.

While size does have a part to play, the fact that women generally have a higher percentage of body fat is a big factor, according to BBC.

This is because alcohol isn’t absorbed into fatty tissue, but instead builds up in the blood, resulting in stronger effects.

So, naturally, the higher your percentage of body fat, the more alcohol in your bloodstream.

Sobering.
