Plant A Garden

Children love helping in the garden so take advantage of spring and get planting!

The best thing about having young children is the fact that you can turn everything into a game. Given the fact that spring is finally here, a good way that you can entertain the kids and save money is to invest in some seeds and bulbs for the garden.

Children love being outside (and playing in the mud!) so why not ask your little ones if they’d like to grow some vegetables or flowers?

If you have the space, you can designate a small part of your garden to growing lettuce, beans, potatoes, spuds and a host of other vegetables. Your children will love helping you look after the vegetables and seeing the end result when they’ve finished growing.

One of the major benefits of spending the time doing this with your children is the fact that you’ll end up saving a lot of money on produce in the long run, because you’ll have a garden full of fresh vegetables in a few weeks.

Just think, you’ll be saving money and ensuring that your family has healthy, fresh, organic food for dinner.

If vegetables aren’t an option or if your garden is very small, invest in a few pots that you can keep on your balcony or in whatever outside space you have. Get your children to help you plant some flowers that will brighten up the place and give them the job of watering the plants once or twice a week.

By getting your kids involved with the garden you’ll not only ensure that they’re getting some fresh air, they’ll also be learning about nature and learning how to take care of plants.

Take advantage of the brighter days and get planting!
