The Big Switch: The Brand New TV Shows You Will NOT Want To Miss

The Digital Switchover is happening within 24 hours... so we're diving into The Big Switch with these HOT new television shows!

Her

It’s less than 24 hours to the Saorview Digital Switchover and we’ve switched our old TV highlights for some brand new, television series swaps…

Whether you’re a sitcom obsessive or a thrill-seeking groupie, we’ve got the Big Switchover Show for you…

Drama Queen

We were in tears waving goodbye to Carrie and all the New York girls, although some of us were relieved to be rid of Carrie’s incessant, philosophical chatter dictating our daily lives, but fear not, there’s a new generation of ladies in town. Girls is the brand new comedy on HBO and our Sex And The City fix. The show tells the story of the humiliations, disasters and dramas of four very different twenty-something girls: Hannah, an aspiring writer, Marnie, an art gallery assistant and cousins Jessa and Shoshanna. Sounds like they could be the next generation of Louboutin-lovers and we’re not complaining… Check it out the new season this January on 2013.

Simply Spellbinding

Magic took over our lives in 1997 with the arrival of a certain spectacled young Hogwarts wizard on the popular culture scene, but our real obsession were the Halliwell sisters in the US television series, Charmed. Get your spell-chanting going again with the brand new British supernatural comedy-drama, Switch. The series focuses on four witches who try to make their way in London. The six-episode run began on last Monday at 10pm on ITV2. Don’t miss it next week…

Comedy Crackers

They dominated our television screens for a decade, and have done since with the never-ending re-runs. The jokes will never grow old though, the Central Perk gang were one of a kind. We’re not sure if anything will ever fill the hole the last-ever episode and those apartment keys on the table left in our hearts, but there is one new show that could give it a run for its money. Ireland’s Amy Huberman is starring in the laugh-out-loud, hilarious series, Threesome, on Comedy Central.

Thrill Seeker

If it’s the obsessive-watch-ten-episodes-in-one-day kind of television series that you want and you’re missing 24, don’t worry… There is a fantastic new show in town and we are glued to the screen. Homeland premiered in the States this time last year and has captured a couple of Emmys, a Golden Globe and a few million fans in the meantime. Channel  4 is screening the second season at the moment and has already secured the rights to the third series next year…. Phew.

Fashion Fanatic

We loved having a sneaky peek into the wardrobes of women across the UK on Gok Wan’s hit show How To Look Good Naked, but this time there’s a new off on the TV. Show Me Your Wardrobe-Celebrity Edition gives us a good nose into the closets of the rich and famous. We get our nosey nature weekly fix on Sky Living every Monday at 8:30pm.
