ABC News reporter, Amy Robach, didn’t exactly think she needed to undergo a mammogram treatment but did so for one of her news reports.
However, the reporter was startled when she discovered she had breast cancer. She will now undergo a bilateral mastectomy.
According to CNN, Robach was covering the topic for Good Morning America’s Pink Day.

Doctors informed the reporter afterwards that the mamogram had saved her life.
“I was also told this, for every person who has cancer, at least 15 lives are saved because people around them become vigilant,” Robach wrote. “They go to their doctors, they get checked.”
“I can only hope my story will do the same and inspire every woman who hears it to get a mammogram, to take a self exam. No excuses. It is the difference between life and death.”
Robach is hopeful that by going for the test herself and discovering the news, this will also encourage other women to get tested.
Hat tip to Claire Lucey for sending this one on to us.
