Variety is the spice of life…

And is also the key to spicing up your sex life it seems.

In one of the largest studies ever to examine the factors which affect long term satisfaction in sex, it was found that those who actively research new ideas and try new things have more passionate sex for longer.

Researching new sex positions and ideas was found to keep the passion in a relationship.

The research looked at 38,747 couples aged 18 to 65 who were married or living together, and many of the couples involved had lived together for more than 20 years.

According to The Chicago Tribunethe study found;

“If properly nurtured, passion can last for decades.

“Nearly two-thirds of sexually satisfied respondents reported that their sex lives now were as passionate as in their early days together.

“Over one-third of sexually satisfied men and women selected ‘passionate’ as the single best word (out of six) to describe their most recent sexual encounter.”

According to lead author of the study, David Frederick, reading sexual self help books and articles are a big help when it comes to looking for sexual inspiration.

He added: “But what set sexually satisfied couples apart was that they actually tried some of the ideas.”

New sexual positions, acting out fantasies and incorporating sex toys were found to lead to more satisfying sex lives, as well as oral sex and more frequent sex.

The study also found that satisfied respondents tended to have more consistent orgasms.

Well, we could have told you that one.
