So this is why some women shout out “daddy” during sex

It's not what most people think it means.

It’s not what most people think it means.

Some women like to shout out “Daddy” during sex which can be met with a variety of responses. Some men might like it while others think it means the woman has “daddy issues”.

Well, it turns out if has nothing got to do with the latter.

Sex therapist Vanessa Marin was talking to Broadly and explained that some women do it to give the men a more dominant role in the bedroom.

She said:

“I’ve heard from a fair amount of men who were turned off by it, and were worried that it was an indicator of ‘daddy issues.

Yes, ‘daddy’ can mean ‘father,’ but we also use the word to indicate when someone is the boss, in charge, a protector, or doing a good job.

That’s usually the meaning women are going for in the bedroom. It’s a bit of a 70s porn cliche. I’ve never run across a woman who called her partner ‘daddy’ because she genuinely liked fantasizing that he was her father.”

A thread on Reddit has received comments from people about why they used to call people “Daddy” in the bedroom. One girl said, “I enjoyed calling my ex-so daddy because i thought it sounded hot. I don’t have a father, and I don’t have “daddy issues”. I also don’t have many friends, and I only have a younger brother. Lots of girlfriends i know call their boyfriends daddy. It just sounds sexy. ”

While a guy added, “I’m a guy and when my SO calls me daddy it turns me on incredibly. For me, and for a lot of people, there’s no incestuous stuff going on. I see daddy as a term of endearment along the lines of baby or sweetheart, except that daddy implies a protective, dominant tinge to the situation.”
