There is a status yellow snow-ice warning in effect for Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo this morning.
According to Met Éireann, heavy thundery showers are expected to be wintry particularly over higher ground. This warning is in effect until 10.00am.
Today, as a whole, will be cold with icy patches and highest temperatures around five to nine degrees Celsius.
Windy conditions and frost are expected in places this evening but will clear as the night progresses and temperatures rise.
