Hosting a Super Bowl party this weekend and stuck for ideas? We’ve got you covered!
This weekend will see one of the most watched sports events of the year being viewed by thousands of people across the globe, and you know what that means? Plenty of munchies to chow down.
Here’s our custom Super Bowl menu, and it’s safe to say that it’s a definite crowd pleaser.
Nachos with Dips
You really can’t beat nachos as a Super Bowl snack, and when they’re paired with guacamole, well, it’s a match made in heaven. Here’s a recipe for the simple and delicious dip:
Ingredients
- 1 avocado
- 2 tbsp low-fat or fat-free Activia natural yoghurt
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 2 spring onions, chopped
- 2 tbsp fresh coriander, chopped (optional)
- 1 red chilli, chopped (optional)
- Juice of 1 lime
- Freshly ground black pepper
Method
- Cut the avocado in half and remove the stone.
- Spoon out the avocado flesh, and place into a small bowl.
- Mash the avocado, and add the yoghurt, tomato, spring onion, coriander and chilli (if using).
- Squeeze over the lime juice and add some freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Tip: to prevent the dip from going brown, put the avocado stone into the bowl with the guacamole. Remember to remove before serving!

Pizza
It’s really hard to go wrong with these slices of amazingness! But to make things more interesting, why not buy a blank pizza base and spice things up with your own toppings? Bacon, we’re calling you.

Chicken Legs/Wings
Covered in barbecue sauce, chicken is the perfect accompaniment to the Super Bowl party! Here’s a recipe for a sauce using bourbon whiskey to coat your chicken in (believe us when we say that it’s pretty amazing).

Hot Dogs
Forget plain old hot dogs with ketchup and mustard, it’s all about adding in chopped onions, gerkins, lettuce and tomatoes for that extra kick (plus it seems that bit more healthier).

Mini-Cheese Toasties
Even the name of them makes our mouths water. This recipe for cheese toasties is so delicious and perfect for snacking on during the big game.
- 1 baguette, sliced into 24 rounds
- 40g Parma ham, sliced into 24 pieces
- 2 apples, cored and thinly sliced
- 1 x 200g Dubliner Vintage Block, sliced into 24 pieces
- 70g walnuts, roughly chopped
Method:
- Preheat the grill. Arrange the baguette slices on a baking tray and grill for two minutes per side until golden brown.
- Place one piece of Parma ham and two apple slices onto each round. Top with a slice of Dubliner Vintage Block and a few walnuts.
- Place under the grill again for two minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Don’t forget to get your favourite drinks too – Traditional beer ahoy! Or if you’re feeling particularly adventurous – give some of Ireland’s craft beer ago.
Have a great one ladies and gents. It’s definitely going to be a good one.
