If you’re looking for some truly beautiful scenery in Ireland, the Slieve Bloom Mountains are a must-see.
The sloping Slieve Bloom Hills form a link between Laois and Offaly and by all accounts, the scenery here is not to be missed.
Although you can experience the hills by car and bicycle, it is recommended that you walk the route in order to get an authentic feel for this area.
If you enjoy a spot of hill walking, you’ll be delighted to know that the mountains offer short routes, looped walks and long-distance marked trails.
Even taking a wander through the hills, you’ll find plenty of quaint villages where you can take a break and appreciate the untouched beauty of this area.
Travel guides, including The Lonely Planet, have pointed out that this is an area not always explored by tourists visiting Ireland for the first time.
