She Was “Distracted”: Lady Follows GPS And Drives 900 Miles… Instead Of 90

Wait until you see the map...

We’ve heard of a few “kerrr-aaazy” GPS stories but this one takes the biscuit…

A 67-year-old woman drove for 900 miles over the course of two days as a result of a GPS error and her lack of attention. Being distracted here just isn’t an excuse, the actual destination was only 90 miles away.

Sabine Moreau began the journey in her hometown of Hainault Erquelinnes, Belgium.

She wanted to pick a friend up at a train station in Brussels, 93 miles north from her point of origin.

She turned on the GPS, which told her to drive south, taking her all the way down to Zagreb, in, wait for it, Croatia.

The massive journey Sabine undertook following GPS directions.

During the journey, Sabine stopped twice for petrol and slept for a few hours on the side of the road. She even suffered a minor car accident.

She was distracted, she said.

Even though the lady passed driving signs in French, German and Croatian, she “suddenly” arrived in Zagreb and realised she wasn’t in Belgium.

It might seem funny, but Sabine’s son wasn’t very amused. After a day, he alerted the police who started a fruitless search in Belgium.

Phew. Either the GPS or Sabine need an inspection…
