Seven Ways With… Pork

There are so many foods out there that deserve the credit for being versatile and go beyond the mistaken boundaries of frying, baking and boiling.

Pork is renowned for being used for all sorts of delectable snacks and dishes, but have you ever thought about the other ways you can utilise its tastiness?

In this feature, we’re looking at some alternative ways to cook and eat popular foods from across the globe. From unusual dishes to simple classics, here are seven ways with pork.

1. Carnitas

Carnitas means “little meats” and it’s the perfect snack or light meal, generally served with strips of roasted pork with chopped coriander, diced onion, salsa, guacamole and refried beans in a tortilla. Have a look at this recipe from the Food Network here.

2. BBQ Spare Ribs

3. Pork Schnitzel

Schnitzels are cutlets that are coated with tasty breadcrumbs and then fried!  A popular food in many countries, it can be made from all sorts of meats. Have a gawk at James Whelan’s recipe here.
