‘The Avengers’ smashed box-office records around the world earlier this year, fast becoming the third-highest box office draw in history. Great news for the whole cast, but none more so than Scarlett Johansson, as the star has a new and impressive statistic to add to her resumé.
Scarlett’s turn as Black Widow in the superhero movie has impressed movie bosses so much that they have reportedly offered the actress an astonishing $20 million dollars to reprise the role for a planned sequel.
This makes Johansson the current highest-paid actress in Hollywood, topping the $19 million that Angelina Jolie brought in for her star-turn in ‘The Tourist’.
‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart topped the Forbes list of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood earlier this year, but that takes account of how much a star has earned in total across all movies they have starred in that year – so on a per movie basis Scarlett dwarves the ‘Snow White’ star’s earnings.
