Ryanair have apologised for a “regrettable” comment made by a member of staff, after a Facebook video emerged earlier today.
Her reader Ella Ryan got in touch with us this morning and shared footage from her flight from Glasgow to Dublin the night before, in which a member of cabin crew can be heard asking passengers to calm down if the “don’t want to die”.
A Ryanair spokesperson told Independent.ie: “(We) will be speaking to the crew member involved and apologise for the regrettable comment she made in the heat of the moment.”
Ella told us earlier:
“I was on this flight yesterday, due to leave Glasgow Airport at 15.35 which ended up leaving at 23.35.
After being on two different aircrafts, receiving one voucher to the value of £3.50, continuously receiving inconsistent reasons for the delay.. All hell was breaking loose when a member of staff made this outrageous announcement which only fuelled the already anxious and angry passengers (including children), warning us to calm down if we didn’t want to die.”
In the footage, which has since been deleted, a member of crew could be heard informing passengers that there is ice on the wing and said” “We don’t want to die”.
