When the last episode of Friends aired in 2004, there was already speculation about whether the hugely popular series would ever make a return to our television screens. Cast members have been haunted by questions of a series return in almost every interview they have ever undertaken but can they now start confirming that Friends will be making a comeback?
According to reports, the much-loved series is set to make a return for a full season in 2014. Initially, the rumours had just surrounded a Thanksgiving special but now apparently NBC are in discussions to make this a reality.
However, the co-creator of the series Marta Kauffman, dismissed the possibility of a reunion when she spoke to E! News. Not only did she dismiss a full season, but also any possibility of there being a movie reunion.

Despite this setback, most of the cast from the series continue to work together in various projects; Courtney Cox made a guest appearance in Matthew Perry’s Go On while Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc are to work together in Kudrow’s series Web Therapy.
Warner Brothers have now apparently weighed in too, claiming there is no truth to the whispers about a new series for 2014.
However, surely with the amount of press coverage and the fact that everyone still watches Friends on a loop across various channels might push the studios into getting on board with the idea.
