RTE has come in for criticism this week after allegedly hiring a limo to transport Twink 150 metres across a car park last weekend.
The entertainer and presenter was booked to appear on the Saturday Night Show to discuss the theft and subsequent recovery of her dog Teddy with host Brendan O’Connor.
However, the appearance took a turn for the worse when O’Connor brought their chat to an abrupt end after eight minutes, leading Twink to launch a rant that was described by Twitter users as “terrifying” and “embarrassing”.
The Sun has since claimed that a private limo was hired by the national broadcaster to bring Twink from her car at the RTE Radio Centre to the Montrose television studio, a distance of just 150m. The newspaper added that the move had angered staff, who were recently asked to take the bus instead of taxis to save money.
