Mental health and hyperemesis: Rosie Connolly gives fans an update on her pregnancy

Olivia Hayes

She announced she was expecting her second child last night.

And now Rosie Connolly is opening up about the latest pregnancy. Taking to Instagram Stories, the influencer said that she was struggling a bit at the start of the pregnancy, but she was delighted after coming out of her scan yesterday.

“It’s been a difficult few months but to see our new baby waving and kicking like crazy today at our scan, and to hear that heartbeat just made it all worthwhile. No feeling like it and we know just how lucky we are to be blessed with another beautiful baby,” she wrote.

Then speaking this morning, she said: “I’m actually back in this morning to see the dietician because I’m having a bit of trouble with my blood and my iron levels which I had on Harry as well, because I’ve been so ill… hence why I’ve been a bit MIA for the past few months.

“I’ve been living on dry crackers and toast for a few months. I haven’t been able to eat fish or meat in three months. It’s really hard to keep you nutrients up when you can’t really eat much so I’m going to go in and speak to a dietician.

Many fans were asking how far along she was in her pregnancy, to which she answered: “I am 13 weeks today so I am due in March and yeah, it’s just so exciting. I can’t wait for next year, I’m so excited.

“I didn’t get a bump until I was about 5 or 6 months with Harry and of course I panicked with Harry thinking he was going to be a tiny baby, but no, I have big babies!

And with sickness she said: “Mornings can be bad [with sickness] and evenings, basically I can puke with the drop of a hat.

“And of course my mental health has suffered again this time. It suffered with Harry because I had to come off my medication, my anxiety medication. I came off it before the wedding because I knew we wanted to try for a baby.

“I’m a bit more aware of it now because it happened on Harry as well. I thought it was around with Harry because my mum was sick and all of that but it’s actually just hormones and pregnancy… but I have a really good councillor and I’m getting the help I need.

“That’s not to say I haven’t struggled over the past three months really badly but I’m finally getting on the right track and being able to control all that.”

Later, coming out of the hospital Rosie spoke about her diagnosis.

“[The nurse] gave me a whole thing on hyperemesis, which I’m almost certain I had with Harry. I don’t know if I’m as bad this time I’m not vomiting as much.”

She then said that that was enough baby talk, but we’re sure she’ll keep us posted throughout her pregnancy!
