If you’re bemoaning your late 20s, dirty thirties or middle-aged status, you’ll be excited to hear that the good times are all ahead of you.
According to the latest study on age and happiness levels, it seems you need to forget your youth and set your sights on being a golden oldie.
Delving into the link between age and happiness, a government survey held in the UK interviewed 300,000 adults over a three year period, from 2012 to 2015.
Analysing feelings of happiness, contentment and life satisfaction, the poll found that most people reported being at their happiest between the ages of 65 and 79.
(Although, who doesn’t look forward to their retirement…)

But before you start reserving that retirement getaway, there’s an uncomfortable bump in the road when you hit your mid-40s.
While you might not have a stereotypical mid-life crisis, according to the poll ratings, life satisfaction and happiness were lowest between the ages of 45 and 59.
Pressures such as finance, family worries and general unease all appeared as factors that can dampen that daily cheer.
While it might seem like a long way off, at least we can take some solace in a lifetime of easing ourselves into our golden years.
