Meet Jake, the South Carolina puppy who was trapped in a fire when he was only a few weeks old.
William Lindler, a local firefighter, noticed smoke coming from his neighbour’s home and rushed to help when he heard that there was a puppy trapped inside.
Jake suffered 75 percent burns to his body and when William asked the local vet about him a couple of weeks after, he was told that Jake’s owners had abandoned him when they couldn’t afford his health care.
William adopted the pup and Jake has since become a valuable addition to the Hanahan Fire Department.

He recently became an official member of the team and speaking to Bored Panda, William said:“I had plans on using Jake as a therapy dog, but have changed gears and we are focusing on training him to be an Arson Detection Dog”.
The change in Jake is remarkable and you can follow his adventures on Facebook, at Jake’s Page.
