It’s been revealed that Spain, Portugal and the US are the top destinations for Irish holidaymakers.
Newstalk has highlighted some of the results from the latest Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) survey which shows some interesting trends developing with holidaymakers.
According to them, when it comes to city breaks, people are opting to travel more frequently to America over European cities. New York was the most popular destination, followed by Barcelona, Rome and Prague.
The ITAA state the reason for the surge in interest in the States as a holiday destination is due to new routes added to airline companies.
Also increasing in popularity are all inclusive cruises and European camping holidays.
As for regions that have seen a decline in tourism from Ireland, included on the list were North Africa, Turkey and Greece.
