Looking for a job is a lot of hard work.
CVs to be written and checked and re-checked, cover letters to be written and checked and re-checked, job applications to be filled out, websites and newspapers to be scanned everyday…
Phew.

Overwhelming? Just a little…
Apparently, there is a way to land your dream job without ever actually job-hunting.
According to Mashable, there are three ways to make yourself stand out from the crowd so suddenly it’s the employers who are knocking on your door…
1. Show Off
Use the power of the internet to your advantage and blog. Blog about your interests, current affairs or news of what’s happening in your chosen industry. Keep it PG, obviously.
Now when the employer searches your name online, it’s not your Facebook profile that pops up, it’s this amazing blog where you basically show off how amazing you are, subtly of course.
2. Keep And Make Contacts
You probably know a lot of people in your line of work that you don’t necessarily work with. Keep these contacts because it’s amazing what whispers you hear through the grapevine.
It also means that your name is out there. Who’s to say they won’t give you a call and offer you a job when they can see you working hard every day?
3. Talk
Tell people what you’re good at. Your contacts will never think of you if you don’t let them know that you love what you’re doing and you’re good at it. You can do this subtly (without the shameless bragging) by always offering advice, being interested in what they’re up to and making sure your conversations always include something work-related.
