Haven’t solved the mystery of the sock thief in your house yet? The culprit could be right under your nose…
A 3-year-old Great Dane was taken to an animal hospital in Portland, Oregon, displaying signs of serious pain and distress.
The vet took several x-rays of the hound in order to find out what was causing the dog’s discomfort only to discover something pretty unusual in its stomach.

The dog had somehow consumed 43 socks, breaking any record Dr. Ashley Magee has ever encountered.
In an interview with CNN, the vet said: “We opened up his stomach and kept removing sock after sock of all different shapes and sizes”.

The dog underwent a two-hour operation and survived to wag his tail…
After the impressive discovery the vets decided to enter the annual ‘They ate What?’ competition and claimed third place, taking home a $500 cash prize.
