As far as tricks go, this Dublin dog has mastered one of the best we’ve ever seen.
Proud owner Lydia O’Byrne shares her home with Freddie, an adorable three-year-old Cairn Terrier/King Charles crossbreed.
Earlier today Lydia and Freddie were out for a walk in a Dublin park, when midway through their usual three laps Freddie began to pull on his lead, attempting to head down a different path.
Lydia first tried to coax the pooch back to his usual route but when he continued to plead, she gave in and followed his lead.
It’s just as well she did, as the very clever canine’s hunt led Lydia to a spot in the bushes where a bicycle was concealed. Not just any bicycle of course, but one belonging to Lydia’s brother Gavin. The same bike that had been stolen from Lydia’s car a number of weeks previously.
Hardly believing her find, Lydia rang the Gardaí and got the all clear to take the bike home, thanks to the hard work of her wonderful detective dog. She writes: “So proud of our detective dog. Never underestimate the instinct of our furry friends, they are truly incredible! I’m astounded! All the treats for Freddie today!”
Good boy, Freddie. Good boy.
