Fans of Eastenders will, more than likely, have heard about the major storyline planned for this week but just in case… SPOILER ALERT.
The soap has released a new cast photo for 2014, ahead of a murder storyline in which Lucy Beale dies in mysterious circumstances.
The ‘whodunnit’ plot will place several characters, including her father Ian and lover Max Branning, at the center of the murder investigation.
It will be Feburary of next year before Lucy’s killer is revealed according to Metro UK, which will tie in with the show’s 30th anniversary.
“It’s going to be a great story for the Beales and the start of a new, dark chapter for them,” reveals Hetti Bywater, who has played Lucy since January 2012.
“It’s going to be about the implications of it and everyone’s journey. It’s a bit scary and overwhelming, but I am ecstatic that I’ve been given this opportunity. It’s amazing and challenging and it’s wonderful to be part of such a big storyline.”
Her final episode will air this Friday, April 18, at 8pm on RTÉ and BBC One.
Cast members missing from the photo include Samantha Womack (Ronnie), who was filming other projects, and Himesh Patel (Tamwar), who was on holiday.
