This amazing receipt was posted to Casual Cynic tumblr account. The waitress in question was a lady who had spoken to the customer about her dream of travelling to Italy.
However, she got divorced a few years earlier and never having a “real” job as she describes it, took a position waitressing. Her family were from Florence and she had spent years studying Art History.
After the customer departed, he left quite the substantial tip with a very sweet comment. The story was told by her daughter who posted the receipt.
